Middle School Curriculum
At our Middle School, which caters to students in Years 6, 7, and 8, we offer a bespoke curriculum that skilfully combines Key Stage 3 of the English National Curriculum and Cambridge Lower Secondary. Additionally, we meet the requirements set by the Mongolian Ministry of Education. Our curriculum puts great emphasis on core subjects, ensuring a thorough understanding for our pupils. We also provide a well-rounded education through foundation subjects, with a strong focus on spoken and written language across all areas of study.
The English National Curriculum
Taking inspiration from the English National Curriculum, ESM is dedicated to fostering pupils’ knowledge, skills, and understanding on a daily basis. The curriculum offers an outline of core knowledge, enabling our teachers to design engaging lessons that promote pupils’ learning, understanding, and skills within the context of a more comprehensive school curriculum.
Cambridge Lower Secondary
Cambridge Lower Secondary emphasises the development of knowledge and skills in key subjects, such as English, Mathematics, and Science. This curriculum is tailored to help schools deliver a broad and balanced education that aligns with their context, culture, and ethos. By blending the foundations of the English National Curriculum with elements of Cambridge Lower Secondary, ESM provides Middle School pupils with a unique set of learning opportunities that cultivate internationally-minded, confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged individuals.
Holistic Education
At ESM, we are committed to nurturing pupils’ knowledge, skills, and understanding through a balanced and broadly-based curriculum. Our holistic education approach encompasses pastoral care, weekly assemblies, extracurricular arts programmes, daily clubs, strong pupil representation, and regular field trips and activities.
Inclusive Learning Environment
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, welcoming pupils with a diverse range of academic achievements. We provide tailored support for those with additional academic needs through individual assessments conducted by subject teachers during our club programme. For pupils requiring language support, our dedicated departments identify and address their needs by offering more intensive support in smaller groups during timetabled lessons.

Enriching School Trips and Programmes
At ESM, we believe in providing our students with unique and enriching experiences beyond the classroom. Our pupils have the exciting opportunity to participate in international performance tours, showcasing their talents. Previously ESM has held tours in the United Kingdom, Russia and Thailand. These experiences allow our students to broaden their horizons, learn about new cultures, and build lifelong memories.
Furthermore, ESM offers an Intensive Study Programme, held in a picturesque remote resort once a year. This week-long immersive experience is akin to attending a boarding school, where students can focus on their studies, bond with their peers, and enjoy a tranquil learning environment away from the bustling city. Our Intensive Study Programme not only reinforces academic knowledge but also fosters personal growth and resilience, essential skills for our students’ future success.
A Diverse Array of Clubs
At ESM, we appreciate the significance of offering our pupils a variety of extracurricular pursuits alongside their academic studies. Our comprehensive clubs programme boasts an array of exciting options, encouraging students to discover new interests, hone existing skills, and form lasting connections with their peers.
Our clubs cater to an extensive range of passions, from sports and fitness to the creative arts and foreign languages. Participation in these stimulating activities enables students to develop essential skills such as teamwork, leadership, and creative thinking, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
We remain dedicated to fostering the growth of the whole child, and our vibrant clubs programme is a testament to our commitment to cultivating a rich and rewarding learning environment for all our pupils.
