ESM pauses today after an action-packed first term, with many achievements to its name.

Academically, this has been a strong start. We are feeling the benefit of the 130 students in Grades 11 and 12, a large proportion forming the IB Cohort. The Middle School has a real sense of identity, typified by the House Competition which saw St Andrew`s leading the field and being rewarded with a Bowling Outing on Wednesday. The Junior School has 11 full classes and the Pre-School is thriving too.Successful Parents` Evenings were held throughout the school two weeks ago. As a whole, ESM is moving near to a Roll of 600 students for this year.

Lots to cheer on the sports side, with the Cross Country athletes sweeping the board of first places at the BSU Run Yesterday and an overall plus score for our Volleyball teams in wins and losses over the term. Boxing is now a popular new sport. The whole activities field has been much rejuvenated, with more visiting music teachers especially in guitar, violin, piano and morin khuur.

Our lecture series continued this week with a magical visit and talk on Mahatma Gandhi by H.E.Dr T Suresh Babu the Indian Ambassador to Mongolia yesterday. Also this week another in the University Destinations Presentations –this time from APU Japan.

Over the holiday fortnight, ESM hosts both an Inter-School Chess Tournament and a Maths Competition, and at the same time upgrades and improvements take place through the school, especially in the Basement.

The Term 2 Calendar looks equally busy and energetic when we re-start on Monday 24 October.
