This week 59 of our Grade 5 students have travelled to the ancient Mongolian capital of Kharkhorin in Uvurkhangai province on a three day field trip. Whilst in Kharkhorin, the students visited the fascinating local museum, the extraordinarily Erdene Zuu monastery and hiked up to the stunning monument that overlooks the town. The students completed various fieldwork tasks and recorded observations at each site. As well as the academic learning, the students benefited from the new personal and social experiences this trip offered, with the two nights away from home developing their independence, resilience and maturity which all become increasingly important as they prepare to take their next steps in life after Junior School.
