2 November 2020

Dear Parents,

November has arrived, heralded as usual by the wonderful of array of Halloween costumes worn by the Pre and Junior School (and many staff too!) last Friday. It is colder and we are into week 2 of Term 2.

The Gobi Resort Residential Trips have re-started with Grade 6 this week and Grades 7,9, and 10 to follow this term. The Grade 8 Trip in October was a great success. There are some excellent photos and reviews of this on our Facebook Page, ( https://www.facebook.com/englishschoolofmongolia ) and also film of the first two Better Together Concerts at the Opera House last month, including a highlight montage and The Seven Ages of Man Ballet on YouTube. This week sees the Mongolian Cultural Assemblies and also the first of our Winter Lecture series, given by H.E. Mr. M P Singh, Indian Ambassador to Mongolia. Australia Day, run by the Australian Embassy, will take place in the form of a series of presentation in the Library in Week 4.

Academically, we are moving forward confidently now, with Theory of Knowledge (TOK) presentations from our IB Diploma candidates this week in the Kublai Hall and mock Exams coming along in Week 4. Progress is on course for the PYP authorisation (spanning classes up to Grade 5) by the end of the School Year.

The UBAC Volleyball Competition takes place at ISU this weekend, much anticipated by our Boys’ and Girls’ Teams and thereafter we move into the Basketball season for Inter – House and School Matches.

First notice of our annual Songs Competition is announced today and generally the Calendar is pretty full for the coming weeks. Please visit the Website and Facebook for updates and news.

Keep safe in these difficult days.

Regards,

Graham Hill
