Dear Parents,
ESM has been back in action now for eight weeks and the School is coming together well, though we are still waiting for one or two Teachers to arrive- from quarantine. The daily pattern is well established, with Clubs running for four afternoons per week. Seven Prefects were given their badges on 1st of October. Also yesterday the annual presentation took place for retired and senior ESM Staff.
Many Parents took the opportunity to come into School on Wednesday and Thursday for the first evenings of the year (very worthwhile get-togethers) and please continue to consult the Website Calendar and our Facebook page for notice of impending events.
Volleyball matches recently, with ESM having narrowly the better of two well fought contests against Aspiration School. With the UBAC Tournament postponed, attention has turned to the House Matches next week and to Basketball as the main Team Sport for Term 2.
The Better Together Concerts are well trailed at the moment and represent our main charitable effort for the Autumn; we hope to see many of you at the Opera House next Wednesday and Thursday.
In Week 7, the first trip out to the Gobi Resort will sec Grade 8 in residence for the Academic Course running over 4 days. Serval Grades will be heading out on the Darkhan Road to this destination next Term. These experiences have become a very fulfilling and popular venture for our Students.
The School has a short 1 week break from 16 October and then we are into a full Term 2 running up to the end of the year.
Uniforms are looking good on the whole this Term (all uniform clothes have now arrived at the Outfitters) and we ask for your patience if congestion sometimes means the buses are running a little late (UB was certainly not built with this traffic in mind).
Grateful as always to our Students, Parents and Teachers for their remarkable combined effort to keep things running smoothly at ESM.
Regards,
Graham Hill
Director
