Dear Parents,
We are into Week 2 of the new year: everyone enjoying being back in routine, now we have all got used to the early start times once more. It is all, I think, very well summarized, in the new Video just out: ESM: Together Again, which I hope you will enjoy. It captures the essence of renewed purpose and activity, so noticeable round the School.
With lots of new faces, especially in Grade 1 where we have 4 Classes, there are 800 Students on the Roll. Some new Teachers too, including in reinforced Departments like Sports, Music and ICT – and with other Teachers at the Ramada Hotel, in quarantine, until they can return.
The last few days have seen successful Countryside Days in the idyllic countryside next to the Mongolian Kuwaiti Conservation Centre (soon to be the destination for some Middle School Classes, followed later by Senior Students). These followed a pared-down Opening Ceremony, which saw the Three Flags Raised and the Traditional Ringing of the School Bell by a Junior Student to mark the first day of 2020-2021. Videos and photographs of these first occasions as usual on Facebook: fb.com/englishschoolofmongolia If you have not seen a copy of the new School Magazine, please ask for one at Reception.
We have work proceeding on some outside improvements to the new back Play Area, with an artificial grass surface, and a re-vamp of the Pre/Junior School Garden next to the Tennis Courts. And plans afoot for many developments in the weeks ahead. First up, will be a Charity Concert near the end of this Term. Once we are sure of Pandemic Regulations, we will post the details.
ESM is grateful to be in full flow, and these lovely Autumn days, with the School restored and full of energy, are especially poignant this year.
Regards,
Graham Hill
