Dear Parents,

As you know, we have been running Warm-Up Phases 1 and 2 successfully over the last two weeks. Looking beyond this, the new School Year for ESM starts properly on Tuesday 1 September. Respecting the important safety issues arising from the Pandemic, we will not hold a traditional-style Opening Ceremony for Parents on that Morning. We have in mind a gathering for the larger ESM Family, once we are assured conditions are really right.

Our Calendar for Term 1 includes Countryside Days, involvement with MKCC (The Mongolian Kuwait Conservation Centre) and we hope for a Charity Concert (details to follow). We will also be running some Parents’ Evening over the next few weeks, so that early in the year, Parents will have the opportunity to get to know Class Teachers and Form Tutors especially.

ESM has started to utilize Google Calendar school wide from this Academic Year. You can also keep yourself updated with School Events and receive notifications by subscribing to our google calendar by click on the link below:

If you simply wish to check our school calendar, please visit our calendar webpage.

You will have seen from our Video and the many physical reminders round the School that everyone at ESM is taking health, cleanliness and distancing questions very seriously. Please ensure at your end that the routines of hand-washing, sanitisers, temperature- taking, wearing of masks (including spares) and social distancing are maintained.

Many of your children will still be finding it a struggle to fit into school patterns after eight months without real school-time- although over six hundred children have attended the Warm-Up Sessions – and we ask for your help in re-installing appropriate mealtimes and bedtime,s sensible. Everyone must be smart and properly dressed from the first day, hours for Media and TV, close attention to school rules, including uniforms. We all want the start of term to be as harmonious and smooth as possible.

We will send more exact details of timings, the School day and other aspects of the new term over the next few days. Thank you, as always, for supporting ESM and we look forward greatly to opening the year – celebrating Year 10 for ESM – with everyone together again next week.

Regards,

Graham Hill
